A slightly roughed up Sentry Bot

Sentry Bots

Sentry Bots are another creation of RobCo Industries, developed specifically for the U.S. military. They have only one purpose: the destruction of enemies. They are heavily armed war machines and nothing more.

Fortunately, they are rarely encountered in the wasteland, but it's said that the Enclave possessed many of these units. Perhaps the Brotherhood of Steel also has some, but reports on that tend to contradict each other—typical when it comes to the Brotherhood.

Strength: For robots, Strength determines carrying capacity. Each point of ST allows the robot to carry 50 pounds, in addition to its own weight.
Perception: As with humans, this indicates how far a robot can “see” or “hear.” Sentry Bots have highly advanced sensors and detect threats quickly and efficiently.
Endurance: Despite having long-lasting energy cells, these robots need to recharge occasionally. Endurance represents the number of weeks a robot can operate on a single charge.
Charisma: Like all other robots, they have a Charisma value of 1. Robots have no charm, don't understand bartering, and aren’t friendly. They are simply programmed.
Intelligence: This measures how ‘smart’ the robot is. A more intelligent robot is harder to hack and better at adapting to new circumstances.
Agility: As with animals, Agility corresponds directly to the number of Action Points (AP).
Luck: Set at 5 for all robots, this gives each robot the same chance for a critical hit.
Courage: This value loosely indicates when a robot will retreat for self-preservation. It ranges from 1 to 10 and can be tested with a D10.

The armamament of Sentry Bots

Sentry Bots have only one skill: Heavy weapons: 87

Sentry Bots have two heavy weapon systems:

A rocket launcher for 60 mm rockets of which they carry 3 in their right arm.

A gatling weapons in 5 mm Soviet with in total 240 shots in their left arm.

The damage of the rocket launcher is:

2 W10 + 12 explosive damage (repeatable) in 7 cm radius and it costs the Sentry Bot 5 Action Points.

The damage of the gatling gun is: 3 D6 + 7 per shot.

A typical salvo (the weapon only fires fully automatic) is 12 shots.

The action point costs for a salvo are 5 AP.

Sentry Bots in Combat:

Sentry Bots have the following hit zones and aiming difficulties:

Cheast area/unaimed: 0
Left arm (rockets): 15
Right arm (gatling): 15
Front legs: 15
Rear leg: 15
Head/Sensor package: 55

For an unaimed critical hit, roll a D6 to determine where the hit lands:

1 = Chest Area: Triple damage. 2 = Right Arm (rockets): The hit triggers a chain reaction in the remaining munitions. The robot explodes (only if rockets remain). 3 = Left Arm (gatling): The Gatling gun is destroyed. 4 = Front Legs: Movement is reduced by half. If both legs are destroyed, the robot becomes immobile but can still shoot. 5 = Rear Leg: Same as above. 6 = Head / Sensor Package: Sensors disabled. The robot is permanently unable to fight or move.

The range division of the Gatling Gun is:

CQC: Up to 20 cm: +5 to heavy weapons
Close range: Up to 40 cm: +10 to heavy weapons
Middle range: Up to 60 cm: No adjustment
Far range: Up to 80 cm: -5 to heavy weapons
Extreme range: Up to100 cm: -10 to heavy weapons

The range division of the Rocket launcher is:

CQC: Up to 25 cm: +5 to heavy weapons
Close range up to 50 cm: +10 to heavy weapons
Middle range up to 75 cm: No adjustment
Far range up to 100 cm: -5 to heavy weapons
Extreme range up to 125 cm: -10 to heavy weapons
