Heavy barrel
This page describes one of the permanent weapon tunings.
A heavier barrel eases the handling of a rifle while firing prone, since the rifle buckles less when firing bursts or shooting quickly.
Requirement:One of these rifles:
- Colt Rangemaster hunting rifle
- Garand M1
- Mauser K98k
- Gunrunner Callahan revolver rifle
- Winchester Model 73
- Winchester Model 86
- Winchester Model 95
- As well as any assault rifle
Requirements for the tuner:One does not need a special workshop to install the barrel. But the skills rifles and armorer must be at least 50 points.
To produce such a heavier barrel, one needs armorer at 80 points or higher and a Workshop class of class B1 (special workshop metal and wood) or better.
Time:
Installing: 2 minutes
Producing: 2 days
Average price:
500 $
Effect: The weapon is a now one pound heavier. It's easier to use prone, which gives the shooter +5 to every shot fired prone.
However, the gun is harder to use when kneeling or standing: -10 on every shot in those stances.
Furthermore the handicap for bursts is reduced by 5 points.
Special rule: This is easily combineable with the second pistol grip tuning.
